The Chosen Biome

THIS IS THE SKETCHING OF MY PROJECT 3A IN MY SKETCHBOOK.
The hand drawing was not follow the photo gridlines system, just a simply sketched. It was not follow the scale. The description of the element selected was written as a graft beside the drawing.
THIS IS THE END PRODUCT OF MY PROJECT 3A.

The hand drawing was based on the actual photo, drawing on the photo gridlines system. The picture was redraw bigger (enlarged) than the original photo pasted. Description of the element selected was briefly described by using technical drawing pen. The chosen natural form was colored by color pencils.
We are required to produce a pencil drawing of a natural form in Project 3A. A natural form which inspires an architect to produce a design based on natural systems. Project 3A briefly described the natural characteristic and attributes of the chosen natural object.
The natural form that I chosen was a sea turtle. It's because I respect the attitude of turtle. Turtle may not the fastest
or strongest or smartest animal but that doesn’t stop them from being totally
awesome.

THIS IS THE SKETCHING OF MY PROJECT 3B IN MY SKETCHBOOK.
The hand drawing was not follow the photo gridlines system, just a simply sketched. It was not follow the scale. The description of the element selected was written as a graft beside the drawing.
THIS IS THE END PRODUCT OF MY PROJECT 3B.
The hand drawing was based on the black and white actual photo, drawing on the photo gridlines system. The picture was redraw bigger (enlarged) than the original photo pasted. Description of the element selected was briefly described by using technical drawing pen. The chosen man-made form was draw in black and white only.
The drawing represent a built biomimetic/ biomimicry based on the selected natural element by architect that can be found on this planet. The natural systems implmented in thebuilding that create either successful or failed to mimic the nature was briefly explained.
The architectural design is
inspired by the uplifting image of seabirds in flight over water. A highly sculpted
roof covers and encloses the entire building to capitalise on the very
prominent nature of the site. The conceptual design for the project was carried
out in asso-ciation with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) of Chicago.
This building resembles the shape of a turtle,
that people call it “divine turtle heading out of the sea”. In feng shui, it is
recognised as the “returning turtle” which symbolise the return of Hong Kong in
1997.
